Don’t Forget to Pray

Dear brothers, sisters, hear my words today.

I know our life is dark and dreary,

but don’t forget to pray.

This morning, at the sun’s first golden ray,

I prayed, though terrified and teary:

“Lord, hear my words today!

God, will we have relief? Will you allay

this evil that consumes us here? We

will not forget to pray.

Will you protect us, keep the dark at bay?

Your silence echoes dim and eerie—

please, hear my words today!

Will you save us from enemies who prey

on weaknesses? God, we are weary,

yet don’t forget to pray.

Redeem us from captivity this day!”

I know that God has heard my query,

dear friends. Have hope and hear my words today,

and don’t forget to pray.
