On Ukraine:

“Behold, we have not come out to battle against you that we might shed your blood or power; neither do we desire to bring any one to the yoke of bondage. But this is the very cause for which ye have come against us” (Alma 44:2)

On the Russian President about to exasperate the global supply-chain crisis, fuel prices, and inflation via a completely unprovoked invasion during a still-ongoing pandemic:

“Yea, and we also see the great wickedness one very wicked man can cause to take place among the children of men” (Alma 46:9)

On those who defended the attempted coup of 1/6/21 now defending the Russian invasion:

“…were called king-men, for they were desirous that the law should be altered in a manner to overthrow the free government and to establish a king over the land” (Alma 51:5)

On the dispiriting fear of where this all might lead:

“And now the cause of these our embarrassments […] we knew not; therefore we were grieved and also filled with fear, lest by any means the judgments of God should come upon our land, to our overthrow and utter destruction. Therefore we did pour out our souls in prayer to God, that he would strengthen us and deliver us out of the hands of our enemies […] Yea, and it came to pass that the Lord our God did visit us with assurances that he would deliver us; yea, insomuch that he did speak peace to our souls, and did grant unto us great faith, and did cause us that we should hope for our deliverance in him.” (Alma 58:9-11)
